About The Event
- Every week Ibiza Fenix highlights a special subject of the Ibiza Fenix tree of NGO's. This week will be focused on Renewable Energy + Natural Resource Management.
- It becomes more obvious each year, that the use of fossil fuels to power our economy and individual lifestyles, plus the misuse of natural resources, in general, is causing some very detrimental effects on both the natural environment and the future of the world population.
- On the island of Ibiza, we are blessed with an ample supply of solar energy (some 300 days of natural sunlight every year), plus in many areas, plenty of wind power, as well as literally thousands of tons of biomass.
- Did you know that human waste can be reused for fuel for your car and home?
- Did you know that many homes on the island inhabit recollection and re-use systems for water during rainfall?
- Are you curious to see how to implement your own systems?
- Please come and join us to share your tips & tricks on ways you implement reusable systems within your life and home. Also, find out more about how you can become involved in implementation and education of renewable energy & natural resource management here on the island!
- Presented by:
- - Gabriel Manchencosas from Ibiza, is a professional Renewable Energy Consultant, living in a house powered by sun and wind energy. Gaby also offers free workshops on methods of reducing your household energy consumption.
- - Chris Dews is the founder and director of the Casita Verde Model Ecology Centre, which is completely powered by the sun and wind energy and where rainwater is harvested, used and then filtered for re-use to water both vegetable gardens and fruit trees. He is also an active member of the 'Alianza por el Agua' directors team here on the island.
